Polygon has confirmed that there is a 9.1 GB patch on the PlayStation 4 version, and while you can play the game without installing it, choosing to do so will result in automatically being signed out of the PlayStation Network. According to LegalTRR, the patch is for “improved texture streamer, shadow quality, reloading time, audio mix, framerate performance.” The patch was first reported by Reddit user LegalTRR, who responded to a question in the Dishonored forum about additional first day downloads.
If you’re looking to pick up Dishonored 2 tomorrow for either PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, prepare to download a 9 GB day-one patch first.
