The servers are pretty stealthy, ducking in and out quietly and without intruding on moviegoers’ sight lines. At any point before or during the movie, a push of the button (on the tray/table attached to each seat) sends a signal to your server, who will show up immediately, if my experience was typical. For this reason (and also to avoid waiting in line), purchasing tickets in advance is advisable. Unlike standard movie theaters, this one offers assigned seating-largely, I assume, so the servers can find you. It was delivered so quickly I thought it couldn’t possibly be my order.

Soon enough, I was ordering lunch, a California burger with guacamole, pepper jack cheese, chipotle mayo and pico de gallo. As soon as I took my cushy seat and glanced at the menu, the Pineapple Crush, a vodka-spiked drink with lemon-lime soda, pineapple juice and OJ, called to me. But most of all-I’ll admit it-I loved the self-indulgence factor. I recently visited the uber-modern multiplex-the first of its kind in our region, and part of a national franchise-and was wowed by its plush, classy look and friendly service.
